This groundbreaking system, part of the Athena mission by the European Space Agency (ESA), will ensure the extreme precision required for the operation of the largest X-ray telescope ever built.
Our team was responsible for developing the electronic subsystems, crucial for controlling the image sensor — a critical component designed to function reliably in the harsh environment of space.
This system will monitor, with an accuracy of less than one-hundredth of a millimeter, the alignment between the telescope's mirrors and scientific sensors, positioned 12 meters apart.
